If you’re looking for something to do in and around McBride, here are a few of the local attractions

Horseshoe Lake is a naturally formed ox-bow lake located within the Village of McBride.  It is a Ducks Unlimited sanctuary with a lovely observation platform for waterfowl viewing.

Also in the village, you will find a museum, Visitor Centre and Local Art Gallery at the heritage train station, and a public library.  There is a scale model of the solar system along the Main Street which shows how the sun would appear from the orbit of each planet.

We have an extensive network of trails for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding Along these trails or, driving up the old forestry road, there is a viewpoint and recreation area halfway up the mountain overlooking the gorgeous valley below.

If you head west from McBride toward the City of Prince George, about 103km along Highway 16 you will find the Chun T’oh Whudujut Park which is also known as The Ancient Forest.  This protected area of ancient red cedar and hemlock trees has managed to escape being affected by any natural disturbance or fire for over a thousand years!  It is also further from an ocean than any other inland temperate rainforest on the planet.  There is a boardwalk hiking area, a picnic pavilion, lots of parking and public toilets.

About Us

The Raven’s Nest Hotel History

Formerly known as The Lodge McBride and originally built as a private heli-skiing lodge for Canadian Mountain Holidays, The Raven’s Nest Hotel is now the newest hotel in McBride.  Back in the heli-skiing days, this building was only for the private use of groups of Europe’s Elite; heads of industry, celebrities, corporate executives, mafiosos, aristocracy and….perhaps the King of Spain (I am not allowed to say).  Due to financial downfalls and then a global pandemic, the skiing market is not what it used to be so, we have decided to open this beautiful building up to the public.

We are nestled in the stunning Robson Valley, approximately halfway between Jasper Alberta and Prince George BC along Yellowhead Highway 16, between the Cariboo and Rocky Mountains.  The area is so quiet that deer graze and laze on our lawn.  The guest rooms in this hotel in McBride BC have a cozy, cabin-like feel.  All rooms are outfitted with locally handcrafted log furniture, beds topped with fluffy duvets, and quiet mountain views. We do our best to ensure everyone has a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The Raven’s Nest Hotel is so cozy and quiet.  Absolutely my favourite hotel in McBride! We will definitely stay here again.  They have thought of all the little things that make your stay complete.

I had to stay in a hotel in McBride for a few days for work and just happened to pick Raven’s Nest Hotel. It’s a new business so I hadn’t heard of it before and it’s not linked to a chain but man, I am happy that I took the gamble and stayed there.  It was really peaceful, and the in-room coffee was really good. I highly recommend

We needed a place to stay for the night on our way to Alaska and decided to find a hotel in McBride.  We found Raven’s Nest Hotel and are so glad that we did!  It’s not right beside the highway but back about a block and was so quiet.  I had the best night’s sleep of the whole trip.

Comfortable. Quiet. Cool. In the heat of the summer COOL is a big deal. My room was actually cool enough that I didn’t need the a/c. The bed was ultra comfortable, and it was soooo quiet. Loved it. Absolutely 5 stars!!
